PromptCam ("the app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data the app processes.

Data we collect

As the developer of PromptCam, we do not collect your personal data or store it on our servers. No account is required; there are no ads and no analytics/tracking.

Data stored on your device

Scripts & settings: The text you write and your preferences are stored only on your device.
Videos: Recordings are processed on your device and added to your Photos library only when you choose to save them. Videos are never uploaded to any server.
AI usage, subscription status, and credit balance: Your free daily AI counter, PromptCam Pro entitlement status, and purchased or included AI Credit balance are stored on your device. The free AI use resets automatically each calendar day.

Camera, microphone & photos

The camera and microphone are used only while you record, to capture video. Photos access is used only to save your recording (and optionally to pick a background image). This content never leaves your device.

AI Coach feature

AI Coach is optional. Before PromptCam sends any script data for AI analysis, the app shows an in-app notice that explains what will be sent and asks for your permission.

If you agree and tap Analyze, PromptCam sends your script title, script text, selected goal, selected tone, and selected target language to the OpenAI API to generate the analysis. This data is collected directly from the script and options you enter in the app. OpenAI processes that data under the OpenAI Privacy Policy. We do not use AI Coach data for advertising, tracking, or resale.

The app can also generate a new script from your prompt. If you agree and tap Generate, PromptCam sends your topic or brief, selected goal, selected tone, selected target language, and selected length to the OpenAI API to generate a draft script.

If you do not use AI features, or if you do not agree to the AI data notice in the app, no script or prompt data is sent to OpenAI.

You receive 1 free successful AI use per calendar day across AI script generation and AI Coach/editing. If you need additional AI generations or edits, you may subscribe to PromptCam Pro or purchase optional consumable AI Credits through Apple's In-App Purchase system inside the app. PromptCam Pro includes a monthly AI Credit allowance while the subscription is active. Each successful extra AI generation or edit uses 1 AI Credit.

Payment transactions are processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

This policy may be updated; the current version is always published on this page.
